My Climate Resilience Community Facilitation Fellowship Graduation Ceremony on May 29th. One of my favorite tools I’ve learned from Habitus is our difficult tactics and mediation roleplays as well as the list of emotional core concerns. I really enjoyed our climate justice module when I learned in depth not just the history but the city municipal decisions that facilitated decades of redlining in Boston and informed the residential racism and in turn climate inequality we have now. Because of Starluna I understand even more so deeply how strategically our communities are needed in civic, legal and environmental spaces to begin to address the damage, which makes me even prouder to do this urgent work.

Each part of this fellowship provided intensely tailored collaborative hands on learning and opportunity for self guided practice that made the information accessible. Showing up multiple times a week on zoom and sometimes having 7 day work weeks forged through fire but ensured I was integrating the information in real time. It was here I saw intake be used to curate professional education that truly validated and reflected my interests and values, not just minimized them as people skills. This fellowship proved to me that the world runs on facilitators and I am among them who can do high impact work while managing people and projects full time and come out a stronger, more confident and resilient facilitator.

Since this fellowship I'm ready for roles like Community Engagement Manager, Education Coordinator and Climate Justice Facilitator and Non Profit Consultant and can bring more skilled behavioral coaching to the youth I already serve. I know I have the capacity and skills to continue to empower youth, elders, families with English as a second language and climate vulnerable/marginalized communities with the sanctuary, knowledge and resources to organize themselves into the fabric of our city’s resilient future.
